Sarkari English typing test
English tests use a normal QWERTY keyboard. Most clerical posts ask for 30 or 35 words per minute, where one word is five keystrokes including spaces. Accuracy decides the rest: SSC and RRB take words off for mistakes, and some courts fail you past a set error percentage.

Sarkari Hindi typing test
Hindi tests differ in two ways: the font and the key arrangement. Mangal is a Unicode font that you can type with either InScript or Remington keys. Kruti Dev 010 is an older font with its own Remington-style keys. SSC CHSL accepts Hindi in Mangal only, while RRB NTPC provides both Kruti Dev and Mangal, so check your notice before learning one layout.

How to practise for a government typing test
- Read your notice first. Find the language, Hindi font and layout, time, speed and error limit, and whether you can correct earlier words.
- Try the keyboard. Type a few words and check that the letters you expect appear, especially in Hindi.
- Take the test for the full time. Stopping early hides the tiredness that causes late mistakes.
- Read the marked passage. Missed spaces, swapped letters and skipped words each need a different drill. The scoring guide explains how each exam counts them.
- Compare like with like. Only compare attempts with the same time, language and layout, on a passage you haven't typed before.

Sarkari typing test questions
Is this sarkari typing test free?
Yes. Every exam has five free passages in each language, and you don't need an account. You can repeat a passage as often as you like.
What typing speed do sarkari jobs ask for?
Most clerical typing tests ask for 25 to 35 words per minute. SSC CHSL asks for 35 WPM in English or 30 in Hindi over 10 minutes, RRB NTPC for 30 in English or 25 in Hindi, and the Delhi High Court JJA test for 35 WPM in English. Check the notice for your own post.
Which Hindi font is used in sarkari typing tests?
It depends on the exam. The SSC CHSL 2026 notice allows Hindi typing in Mangal only. RRB's 2025 NTPC notices say both Kruti Dev and Mangal are provided. Mangal is a font, so also check whether your exam uses the InScript or Remington key arrangement.
Can I practise a sarkari English typing test and a Hindi test on the same site?
Yes. Start the English test on QWERTY, or pick Hindi on Mangal InScript, Mangal Remington or Kruti Dev 010. Hindi works in the browser without installing a keyboard driver, but you need a physical keyboard.
Is this an official government typing test?
No. Sarkari Exam Typing is an independent practice site and isn't connected to SSC, RRB, any court or any recruitment board. A practice result doesn't confirm that you'd pass the official test.
