The typing test your exam actually sets.
Its real duration, its qualifying speed, its locked keys, its scoring formula. Not a generic WPM meter with an exam's name on it.
Free either way — 5 English tests, 5 Hindi, one lesson per layout, no signup and no countdown. What a plan adds.
A browser cannot count your keystrokes. The app can.
Free to install from the Microsoft Store, with the same free tier as this site. Buy once and the same key opens both.
- Key depressions
- SSC and most clerical exams score key depressions per hour. A web page never sees your keystrokes — only the text they produced, which in Hindi is a different number entirely, because 36 characters need Alt codes to type. The app measures the keyboard itself.
- No connection
- The whole test bank sits on the machine. Practice does not stop when the network does, and a patchy connection stops costing you a test.
- Hindi, bundled
- Kruti Dev, Mangal, DevLys, Remington GAIL and InScript ship inside the app. Nothing to install in Windows, no OS setting to change.
- Progress that stays
- Your streak, your passed lessons and every result are kept properly, instead of in browser storage that dies with the cache.

Learn the layout, then sit the real thing
Learn the keyboard
Eighty-one lessons from the home row to a full mock, in English QWERTY and all three Hindi layouts. The first lesson in every layout is free for ever.
Sit your exam's test
Its duration, its qualifying speed, its disabled keys. Backspace and arrows are locked exactly where the notification locks them, so a habit you build here survives the exam hall.
Read the real number
Gross and net WPM, accuracy, full and half mistakes, key depressions per hour — with the formula shown instead of one score you have to trust.
Free for ever, or open everything
The free tier is a fixed set, not an allowance. Nothing counts down and nothing expires. One payment opens the rest, on this site and in the Windows app, and there is no auto-renew.

Answered plainly
Is Sarkari Exam Typing free?
Yes. Five English tests, five Hindi tests and one lesson in each keyboard layout are free with no signup, and they never expire — the free tier is a fixed set, not an allowance that counts down. A paid plan opens all 600 exam-length passages and all 81 lessons, on this site and in the Windows app.
What does the Windows app do that the browser cannot?
It counts real key depressions. Government exams score key depressions per hour, and a web page never sees your keystrokes — only the text they produced. In Hindi those are different numbers, because 36 characters need Alt codes to type. The app also works with no connection, brings its own Hindi fonts and layouts, holds the whole test bank on the machine, and keeps your progress properly instead of in browser storage.
Which exams does it support?
18 patterns: SSC CHSL and CGL DEST, SSC Stenographer, RRB NTPC, MP CPCT, UPSSSC, UP Police, Allahabad, Delhi and MP High Courts, district and Bihar civil courts, RSMSSB, DSSSB, CRPF and Delhi Police head constable ministerial, Supreme Court JCA, and state secretariat clerical typing.
Does it support Hindi typing?
Yes — Mangal InScript, Mangal Remington GAIL, Kruti Dev 010 and DevLys 010. The layouts are mapped in the browser, so nothing has to be installed in Windows and no OS setting changes.
How are speed and accuracy calculated?
Every result shows gross WPM, net WPM after the exam's own deductions, accuracy with full and half mistakes, and key depressions per hour where the exam scores that way. The formula is shown rather than hidden behind one number. Exam authorities may use different formulas, so check the current notification for the test you are taking.
Is this a government website?
No. Sarkari Exam Typing is an independently operated practice platform, not affiliated with SSC, RRB, any court, any government body or any exam vendor. Exam names describe practice content only — always rely on the current official notification.
