Which Government Jobs Require a Typing Test?
Read the selection process and skill requirements for the specific post. A job title alone does not establish the typing test you will take.
"Sarkari naukri" covers dozens of different skill tests
A CHSL LDC posting, an RRB NTPC clerk role and a DEO panel job all fall under the same broad label, but their typing stages don't match. One might be passage typing against a WPM target, another a data-entry speed test measured in KDPH, another shorthand dictation followed by transcription. Passage practice on this site covers the first two; it can't reproduce the third.
Our SSC guide is a working example of the split: CHSL LDC/JSA typing, CGL DEST and Stenographer transcription each get a separate preset rather than one generic "SSC typing" page, because the notices themselves separate them.
The language line in the notice matters more than it looks
Some posts accept English or Hindi as a choice; others require both, scored separately. When Hindi is involved, the notice's keyboard reference is easy to skim past — but InScript, Remington GAIL and Kruti Dev place letters on entirely different keys, so practising the wrong one wastes real preparation time rather than just costing a few marks.

Read the selection process in your own notice. A job title on its own does not establish whether there is a skill test, or what form it takes.
My notice says “typing proficiency” with no speed. What now?
Keep looking for a later skill-test instruction.
That document usually carries the duration, layout and evaluation method. Do not supply a WPM figure yourself from another recruitment.
