UPSSSC Typing Test Rules
Junior Assistant needs 25 words per minute in Hindi or 30 in English. That comes from Rule 10 of the UP Government Departments Clerical Cadre Service Rules 2014, and it is the only part of the typing test any government document states. The duration, the mistake allowance, the penalty and the keyboard layout have never been published.

Most pages about the UPSSSC typing test state a duration and a mistake limit with complete confidence. We could not find either in a government document, and this page says so rather than repeating numbers that circulate between coaching sites. What is official is set out first; what is not follows it.

What no official document states
The rules set a speed and stop there. The Commission's advertisements say a typing proficiency test is held to check that speed and that it is qualifying in nature. Neither gives the mechanics. Specifically, nothing official states:
- how long the test runs;
- how many mistakes are allowed, or whether there is a limit at all;
- whether mistakes cost marks or words, and at what rate;
- how much of the text you may go back and correct;
- which Hindi font or keyboard layout is used.
UPSSSC publishes its notices as scanned images through a link whose address changes each time, so these gaps are not an artefact of a document we failed to open. They are simply not written down anywhere we could reach.
What this simulator does, and why
A practice test has to pick values even where the Commission has published none. Ours are listed here so you can tell them apart from the rule:

Treat a pass here as evidence that your speed clears 25 or 30 words per minute, which is the part that is actually required. Do not treat it as proof that you would clear the Commission's own test, because the scoring behind that test is unpublished.

The live Junior Assistant recruitment is Advertisement 12-परीक्षा/2024. UPSSSC notice number 1361/20/तीन(परी0-1)/2025/खंड-1, dated 16 September 2026, states that the typing test for candidates qualified on the main written examination will be held from 30 October 2026, with admit-card information to follow on the Commission's website. That notice carries no duration, error allowance, penalty, font or layout either.
Watch for the test-day instructions. If the Commission issues an instruction sheet before 30 October 2026, it would be the first document to settle the duration, the mistake rule and the layout. Check the Commission's site rather than a coaching page, and treat what it says as final.
Which Hindi layout to practise
With no official layout named, practise the one you type best and be ready for either. Mangal InScript is the common choice on Unicode systems; Kruti Dev is a legacy font convention still seen in UP offices.
