How the score works
A full mistake counts as one and a half mistake counts as half. Those are taken off before your speed is worked out. Missed and repeated words are counted in groups. After the test you can see which mistakes counted and what each one took off. The score cannot fall below zero.
Typing tips
Keep typing when you slip. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.
- Check the language, script and keyboard arrangement named by your court. Do not assume this page matches them.
- If your court uses another timer or editing rule, use these passages for raw practice. Score yourself against the real numbers separately.
How to practise for a district court typing test
Start with the recruiting district and the exact post, then search your saved documents for both. Keep any later skill-test instruction with the original advertisement, since the later document often explains controls the vacancy notice never mentions.
If the recruitment has two language sections, keep two practice records. If it is for a copyist, read whether the source text is shown on screen or supplied some other way. Do not infer the task from a neighbouring district's video or from a clerk test with a similar title.
While you wait for instructions, pick a modest copying exercise: "Case 014/2026: N. Rao filed a copy on 08/09/2026." Compare it character by character afterwards. That is useful keyboard work with no unsupported court cutoff attached to it. Once you know the format, change the timer and controls to match.
The general district-court preset here uses a fifteen-minute passage, 35 WPM English or 30 WPM Hindi, and current-word correction. We have not verified that combination for any particular court, so it is offered for general passage practice. If your court has its own profile in the directory, read its source notes and compare the timer, language and mistake calculation with your instructions before treating a result as preparation evidence.
