How the score works
Only words you type exactly right are counted. A wrong word earns nothing, and nothing extra is taken off for it. Your speed is the correct words divided by the minutes you typed. You can go through the counted mistakes and the deductions on the result screen. The score cannot fall below zero.
Typing tips
If you make a mistake, keep going. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.
- Compare correct-word totals only across attempts of the same ten-minute length.
- Check which recruitment route your notice describes. The promotion-track exam uses a different rule from this direct-recruitment profile.
How to practise for the Bihar Civil Court typing test
Use the Reader/Deposition Writer instructions for your own recruitment. A rule that applies to a promotion test does not establish the direct-recruitment format.
Watch the word boundaries. If the source says "The witness was present." and your copy says "The witnesswas present.", that is a spacing fault, and drilling the letters in "witness" would never find it. Extend the line to "The witness was present. The next hearing is on Monday." and check the boundary after "witness" along with the capital T after the first full stop.
This preset counts exactly correct words over ten minutes, at 40 WPM English and 30 WPM Hindi. Read the unmatched words together with their neighbours, because one missing space changes how several words get compared. Keep the duration and layout identical between attempts. What matters is how much correct text you finished, not whether the pace felt fast.
Do the slow inspection outside the scored attempt. A corrected sentence in an editor and a timed result answer different questions, and the complete official method is still unconfirmed for the active recruitment.

How do correction keys work here?

Direct recruitment for Reader/Deposition Writer and the separate promotion-track exam are easy to conflate, and the earlier review only found solid numbers for the direct-recruitment route: 40 WPM English, 30 WPM Hindi, scored on correct words alone. The complete current direct-recruitment method beyond that hasn't been confirmed.
