How the score works
Marks come off for every mistake that gets counted. What is left is your score for that language. Speed on its own does not carry the attempt. The result screen shows you the counted mistakes and the deductions behind your score. The score cannot fall below zero.
Typing tips
A wrong word is not worth going back for. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.
- Read the whole marked passage after the timer stops. Check places where a line break may have caused a slip.
- This profile only lets you correct the current word. Check whether RO, ARO and Computer Assistant share that restriction in your notice.
How to practise for the Allahabad High Court RO/ARO typing test
A twenty-minute passage will repeat its openings. "The applicant" and "The department" turn up again and again, and after you glance down at the keyboard it is easy to come back to the wrong one.
Try this pair: "The applicant signed the form. The applicant enclosed a copy." The word after the second "applicant" is "enclosed", so use it to find your place. Copy it at a comfortable pace, then compare the finished paragraph line by line and look for an omitted phrase or a sentence typed twice.
If you skipped text, repeat a shorter portion before another full attempt. A high WPM number hides an omission; the copied text does not. The exercise also separates losing your place from not knowing a key, and only the second problem sends you back to keyboard lessons.
Correction is limited to the current word, so a mistake you spot mid-passage has to stay. The 50-mark scale with 0.1 off per mistake matches the 2026 advertisement. The advertisement also says speed is worked out from correct words, words typed past the passage limit are ignored, and the Submit button stays active the whole time. It doesn't describe correction keys, so the current-word limit here is the app's setting.

What targets does this practice test use?
This page runs at 25 WPM in English QWERTY. That is the only language offered, since RO/ARO/CA posts test English typing only.
How do correction keys work here?
Correction is limited to Backspace within the current word. Delete and navigation are switched off. This is the simulator's own restriction. It is not a confirmed reading of the court's rule.
How are marks worked out in the Allahabad High Court typing test?
The test is out of 50 marks and 0.1 mark comes off for every mistake. Left-out words, spelling mistakes and anything typed that isn't in the passage count as full mistakes. You need 25 marks to qualify, and the marks are added to your Stage II marks for the final merit list.
Is the typing test the same for RO, ARO and Computer Assistant?
Yes. The 2026 advertisement gives one Stage III typing test for all three posts: about 500 English words in 20 minutes, marked out of 50.
