The speeds are set by Rule 10 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Departments Clerical Cadre Service Rules 2014, dated 22 September 2014: direct recruitment to Junior Assistant requires a minimum speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 words per minute in English, alongside an Intermediate pass and a CCC certificate. UPSSSC Advertisement 08-pariksha/2023 restates Rule 10 and adds at section 8.2 that a typing proficiency test is held to check it and is qualifying in nature, with merit coming from the written examination. Neither document states the test's duration, an error allowance, a penalty or a keyboard layout: the 5-minute timer, the five free error units and the five-word penalty used here come from candidate guides, and the correction range is this site's own setting. Check the current advertisement before relying on any requirement.
