Last checked 2026-09-14 against the CEN 06/2025 (NTPC Graduate), paras 13.4 and 13.5 on page 20, and the CEN 07/2025 (NTPC Undergraduate), paras 13.3 and 13.4 on page 20. Both set 30 WPM English or 25 WPM Hindi without editing tools or spell check, and neither states a test duration. Updated 2026-09-16 against the Railway Recruitment Boards' Notice on Computer Based Typing Skill Test for CEN 06/2024, dated 06.02.2026. It sets the 10-minute evaluated test, the one-minute warm-up and five-minute break, the minimum of 300 words in English or 250 in Hindi below which a transcript is not evaluated, the rule that a candidate who finishes retypes from the beginning, the full and half mistake arithmetic with 5% of words typed ignored and a ten-word penalty per remaining mistake, the minimum of 30 words per minute in English or 25 in Hindi, and the ban on editing tools. That notice is issued under CEN 06/2024; CEN 06/2025 and 07/2025 state the same speeds, the same ban on editing tools and the same qualifying status, but no duration.
