RRB NTPC Undergraduate Result: the Typing Test Comes Next

RRB does not publish one combined all-India result — each zone posts its own PDF, on its own schedule, so "the result is out" can mean different things depending on which zone you applied under. What's fixed nationally is the exam calendar: CBT 1 for NTPC Undergraduate (CEN 07/2025) was declared on 24 August 2026, and CBT 2 for those shortlisted was held on 17 September 2026. If you're checking your zonal RRB site for a CBT 2 result right now, the next stage after it is not another written exam — for two of the four Undergraduate posts, it's the Computer Based Typing Skill Test.

If your applied post isn't one of the two typist roles, the CBTST doesn't apply to you at all — check para 13.3 of the CEN 07/2025 notice for your own post before assuming you need this practice.
What the CBTST actually asks for
- 30 words per minute in English, or 25 in Hindi.
- Typed on a personal computer only — no editing tools, no spell check.
- Hindi typing uses Kruti Dev or Mangal, both made available on the day.
- Qualifying only. Your typing test marks are not added to merit; final merit comes from the 2nd Stage CBT, among candidates who pass CBTST or are exempted.
- PwBD candidates with permanent blindness or low vision, cerebral palsy, or locomotor disability of at least 40% can be exempted with a Medical Board certificate (Annexure V(H)) uploaded before the test.
- The notice does not state a duration. Our practice test uses 10 minutes; check your own e-call letter for the confirmed timing.
These are the same CBTST rules that apply to the Graduate-level notice (CEN 06/2025) — the speed, fonts and qualifying structure don't change between the two levels, only the posts that carry a skill test at all. Using the wait productively
Whether your CBT 2 result is out, about to drop, or you're still a stage away, 30 WPM English or 25 WPM Hindi is not a speed most people arrive at cold. Run full 10-minute attempts rather than short bursts — the fatigue that shows up in the last two minutes of a real skill test won't show up in a two-minute drill.
