Documents and practice limits
Checked 2026-09-16 against the SSC CHSL 2026 notice, section 13.9.13, pages 19 to 20. Part C, the typing test for LDC and JSA: the medium is Hindi or English, chosen in the application form and final; English needs 35 words per minute and Hindi 30, which the notice equates to about 10,500 and 9,000 key depressions an hour; speed is judged on the accuracy of typing a given passage in 10 minutes; candidates eligible for a scribe get 5 minutes more; and Hindi must be typed in Mangal font only, with any other font leading to non-qualification. Section 13.9.13.2 makes the test qualifying and 13.9.13.4 calculates errors to two decimal places. The notice and evaluation guidelines set no typing-error percentage. The CHSLE 2025 allocation write-up, paragraph 6(ii) sets 7% for UR and 10% for all other categories, including EWS. Those are cycle-specific result cut-offs, checked 21 September 2026. How SSC counts a full and a half mistake is explained on the SSC typing test evaluation page. Check the current notice before relying on any requirement.
