About this practice test
This page gives you a 10-minute NVS (Junior Secretariat Assistant) typing practice test, in English at 30 WPM or Hindi at 25 WPM. Those targets, the Mangal InScript layout and the deduction model were all borrowed from our KVS preset — no primary NVS skill-test instructions were read for any of them. Check your own notice before treating them as NVS rules.

How the score works
You start with a small allowance of mistakes. Once that is used up, each further mistake takes words off your total. A full mistake counts as one, and a half mistake counts as half. You can go through the counted mistakes and the deductions on the result screen. The score cannot fall below zero.
Typing tips
If you make a mistake, keep going. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.

- Use the result to find repeated mistakes while the official settings remain unconfirmed.
How to practise for the NVS JSA typing test
Use the NVS instructions for your post. KVS and NVS share the Junior Secretariat Assistant title, and that shared title confirms nothing about the correction policy or the scoring for your recruitment.
You can still practise keyboard control without claiming a mock pass. Pick an arrangement you intend to verify, copy a short passage, save the text, and label the session with the settings you actually used.
Then work on one recurring problem. If you drop short words, try "A copy of the notice is on the board." and compare it with your attempt before you start reading it from memory — "of the" and "is on the" are where it usually goes wrong. If punctuation is the issue, drill that key inside a sentence. Neither exercise needs an invented NVS error allowance.
The current preset runs ten minutes on Mangal InScript with a deduction model carried over from another exam's profile, not established independently for NVS. Practise the mechanics, but do not read the resulting mark as a verified NVS pass mark. When the skill-test instructions appear, compare the language and controls against your earlier sessions and change whatever differs before judging readiness.

How do correction keys work here?
Only mid-word Backspace works here. Delete and the arrow keys are switched off. That is how this simulator is built, not a confirmed NVS rule.
