# UPSSSC Junior Assistant Typing Test Online

This UPSSSC typing test offers 5-minute practice at 30 WPM in English on QWERTY or 25 WPM in Hindi on Mangal InScript or Kruti Dev 010. Backspace reaches the current and previous word, and mistakes beyond the practice allowance reduce net speed.

The result screen shows gross and net WPM, accuracy, and full and half mistakes, with scoring based on the selected exam profile's formula.

## How the score works

In this UPSSSC Junior Assistant practice test, full mistakes count as one and half mistakes as half. The first five error units are free. Each unit after that takes five words off the words you typed, and your speed is worked out from what is left. The result screen shows which mistakes counted and what they cost. The score cannot fall below zero.

These are this site's practice settings. For what UPSSSC's Rule 10 actually states, and what no official document covers, read the [UPSSSC typing test rules](https://sarkariexamtyping.com/upsssc-typing-test-rules.html).

## Typing tips

Keep typing when you slip. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.

- Five error units are free before deductions start. Each unit after that costs five words.
- The window is only five minutes, so small timing differences matter more. Compare attempts of the same length only.

## How to practise for the UPSSSC Junior Assistant typing test

Learn the correction boundary before a five-minute run. In a sample, type "one two three". While you are on "three", try correcting "two", then try reaching back to "one". Finding out what the controls permit before a scored session saves you from discovering it against the clock.

During the full attempt, watch for the moment a correction makes you lose your place, and review that stretch afterwards. If it keeps happening, practise the original word sequence slowly and return to the source without rereading the whole line.

A short timer makes every pause feel expensive. Resist skipping a small word to get back into rhythm, and check the marked passage to see what that omission actually cost.

The model counts full mistakes plus half of the half-mistake count. The first five error units are exempt, and each unit after that deducts five words, so five is an allowance before deductions rather than a hard maximum that fails the attempt. Backspace here corrects the current word and one previous word, which differs both from unrestricted editing and from current-word-only profiles. Try the controls before the timer and check them against your official instructions.

For Hindi key combinations and matras, see the [Hindi typing guide](https://sarkariexamtyping.com/hindi-typing-practice-guide.html). The [scoring guide](https://sarkariexamtyping.com/typing-test-scoring.html) explains the speed and error figures shown in your practice result.

## Keyboard layouts

English practice uses QWERTY. For Hindi you can pick Mangal InScript or Kruti Dev 010. Check the layout named in your own UPSSSC notice before learning the keys.

## UPSSSC typing test questions

**What targets does this practice test use?**

This page uses 30 WPM English on QWERTY. Hindi uses 25 WPM on Mangal Inscript or Kruti Dev 010. All run inside a five-minute window. That is shorter than most profiles here.

**How do correction keys work here?**

You can backspace into the current word and the one before it. That is wider than most profiles here. It comes from a secondary-source practice convention, not a confirmed UPSSSC rule.

**Are these settings confirmed for my recruitment?**

Partly. The speeds are: Rule 10 of the UP clerical cadre service rules sets 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 in English, and the 08-pariksha/2023 advertisement repeats them. The 5-minute timer, the five free error units and the five-word penalty are not in either document, and no official source names a keyboard layout. Check your own advertisement for those.

**Does every UPSSSC post use this typing pattern?**

No. This page follows the Junior Assistant pattern described in candidate guides. Other UPSSSC posts, and later recruitments, can set a different speed, time or scoring method, so read the advertisement for your post.

**Is the UPSSSC typing test qualifying?**

Yes. Section 8.2 of the 08-pariksha/2023 advertisement says the typing proficiency test is conducted to check the Rule 10 speeds and is qualifying in nature. Your merit comes from the written examination, which is 100 marks over 120 minutes with a quarter mark deducted for each wrong answer.

**Which rule sets the UPSSSC typing speed?**

Rule 10 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Departments Clerical Cadre Service Rules 2014, dated 22 September 2014. It lists three essential qualifications for direct recruitment to Junior Assistant: an Intermediate pass, a minimum of 25 words per minute in Hindi and 30 in English, and a CCC certificate in computer operation from the DOEACC Society or an equivalent.

**How long is the UPSSSC typing test?**

No official document says. Rule 10 sets the speeds and the advertisement says a typing proficiency test is held to check them, but neither gives a duration. This page uses 5 minutes, which comes from candidate guides.

**Which keyboard layout does UPSSSC use for Hindi?**

Neither Rule 10 nor the advertisement names one. This page offers Mangal InScript and Kruti Dev 010 so you can practise either. Check the instructions that come with your admit card before settling on one.

**Do I need a CCC certificate for UPSSSC Junior Assistant?**

Rule 10 lists it as an essential qualification: a CCC certificate in computer operation awarded by the DOEACC Society, or an equivalent certificate from an institution recognised by any government.
