## How the score works

The service rules require 85% accuracy with the 30 WPM English and 25 WPM Hindi speeds, and the typing test is qualifying only. F26 says the merit list is drawn from written-examination marks. The timer, passage length and editing controls shown here are simulator settings.

## English vs. Hindi requirement, side by side

| | English | Hindi |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Speed requirement | 30 WPM | 25 WPM |
| Duration | 15 minutes | 15 minutes |
| Layout | QWERTY | Mangal Unicode InScript |
| Accuracy floor | 85% (confirmed) | 85% (practice fallback — not independently confirmed for Hindi) |

## Typing tips

Keep typing when you slip. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.

- Your speed and the official 85% accuracy standard are separate conditions; clearing one does not cover the other.
- The rules state no test duration or passage length. This page's 15-minute sections and approximately 500-word passage are simulator settings; the typing test adds no merit marks.

## How to practise for the UP Police Computer Operator typing test

This profile is for the Computer Operator post. Its settings should not be carried over to SI, ASI or any other UP Police recruitment with different tasks.

Give each language its own problem to solve. "English: missing capitals after a full stop" points to a different drill from "Hindi: pause before a conjunct", and one combined WPM average would hide the difference.

For the English capital problem, type "The office is closed. Please return on Monday." and check the P after the full stop and the M in Monday. For the Hindi problem, find the character sequence on the Unicode InScript arrangement, then put it in a new sentence. Go back to a full passage once you know which keys you mean to press.

F26/F27 support 30 WPM English, 25 WPM Hindi and 85% accuracy for both, with merit from written-examination marks. They do not state duration, passage length or editing keys, so the 15-minute timer, approximately 500-word passage and correction controls here are simulator settings.

For Hindi key combinations and matras, see the [Hindi typing guide](https://sarkariexamtyping.com/hindi-typing-practice-guide.html). The [scoring guide](https://sarkariexamtyping.com/typing-test-scoring.html) explains the speed and error figures shown in your practice result.

## Keyboard layouts

English practice uses QWERTY. Hindi is specified as a Unicode InScript keyboard; the rules do not name a font.

## Common questions

**What targets does this practice test use?**

The rules require 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi, with 85% accuracy for both. Hindi uses a Unicode InScript keyboard; the rules do not name a font. This page's 15-minute section is a simulator setting.

**How do correction keys work here?**

Backspace works inside the word you are typing and nowhere else. Delete and the arrow keys are off. That is this app's setting. UPPRPB's own test software may allow more.

**Are these settings confirmed for my recruitment?**

The rules support 30 WPM English, 25 WPM Hindi, 85% accuracy for both, Unicode InScript for Hindi and qualifying-only treatment. They do not state duration, passage length or editing keys, so those settings remain simulator-specific.
