## How the score works

Speed here is counted on everything you type, so mistakes do not slow the number down. Accuracy is checked on its own. If you miss the accuracy limit, a good speed will not save the attempt. Your result screen lists the mistakes that were counted and what they cost you. The score cannot fall below zero.

## Typing tips

Do not stop to fix a word you have already passed. Correction keys behave the way the table above describes, so stopping to fight one word costs you more than the word is worth. Check the result screen afterwards to see what actually went wrong.

- Confirm the Kruti Dev layout before you spend weeks learning it. The material behind it describes a different assessment.
- Speed is counted on everything you type here, so accuracy is the part that can fail you on its own. Watch the 80% line.

## How to practise for the HARTRON DEO typing test

HARTRON DEO panel recruitment and HARTRON SETC are separate things. Do not carry a duration, font or certificate requirement from one across to the other.

Give numbers their own practice. Use a fictional record such as "00742 | 08/09/2026 | 1,144.50", then "00724 | 09/08/2026 | 1,414.50". The swapped digits and the reversed date are deliberate differences between the two rows. Copy each field, then compare it against the source. Invented data keeps anyone's real details out of the exercise.

A transposed digit still looks like a sensible number, so read it against the original rather than trusting the shape of the finished row. If you use the number pad, write that down, because results from the top number row may not be comparable.

For Hindi, look for the exact arrangement in the DEO instructions. A Kruti Dev reference for SETC does not establish the layout for the DEO panel. ## Common questions

**What targets does this practice test use?**

English is set to 30 WPM on QWERTY, which works out to about 9,000 key depressions an hour. Hindi is set to 25 WPM on Kruti Dev 010. Both figures come from secondary pages rather than a DEO panel notice.

**How do correction keys work here?**

Backspace and the other correction keys stay on for the whole attempt. That is how this app is configured. HARTRON's own DEO software may lock some of them.

**Are these settings confirmed for my recruitment?**

No. The Kruti Dev reference behind this page describes a SETC assessment, not the DEO panel. Treat the layout and the 80% accuracy figure as provisional. Read the panel's own instructions before you rely on either.
